Class 23 [Also in Group XXVI] A gas blower or compressor 1 driven by a gas turbine 15 has in its intake 3 a centrifugal separator comprising means 5 for rotating the gas, an annular channel 2 for the rotating gas, a channel 10 leading the gas towards the axis of rotation, an aperture 12 at the junction of the channels leading particles separated from the rotating gas to a collection chamber 13, and a connection 16 between the chamber and the exhaust pipe 17 of the turbine such that the turbine exhaust gases extract the particles from the chamber. Guide blades 11 are provided in the channel 10 which is annular in form. As shown the aperture and the collection chamber are annular, but a number of apertures may lead to separate collection chambers.
