Abstract

699,711. Winding yarn. MOOS, K. Aug. 17, 1951 [Aug. 17, 1950; March 21, 1951], No. 19430/51. Class 120(ii) A bobbin winding machine of the kind in which the bobbin 6 is carried on a pivoted support 3 and bears against a driving drum 2 and has damping means 10, 11 for the bobbin support, to reduce bobbin vibration, is charaterized by the provision of a thread traverse drum 15 carried by a pivoted support 13 and urged against the package 6, damping means 20, 21 being incorporated for the support 13. In the modification of Fig. 1, the driving drum 2 is fixed to the drive shaft 1, about which the support 13 pivots, the drum 2 driving also the traverse drum 15 through a friction roller 27. In the modification of Fig. 4, the drum 2 is carried by a stationary pin 36. about which the support 13 pivots, the drum 2 being driven by a belt 38 from the drive shaft pulley 39. For winding conical packages. the pivot 4 of the support 3 is furnished with cylindrical cam surfaces 29 so that as the drum 3 is raised. the package 6 is moved axially.
