Abstract

699,345. Collapsable boxes. DEW, C. J. June 15, 1951 [July 5, 1950; Aug. 4, 1950; Sept. 5, 1950], Nos. 16799/50, 19560/50 and 21850/50. Class 18 A collapsable box is provided with a partition comprising three thicknesses of material, forming flaps 1 attached to the bottom 3 of the box on either side of a web 6 attached to both sides 4 and the bottom 3 of the box, web 6 having two oblique crease lines 8 to permit the folding of the walls over the bottom of the box, the upper edge of the web being recessed. The web may comprise, a one piece member having bent flanges 7 which are secured to the sides and bottom of the box, the web having a V-shaped notch 6a. Alternatively the web may comprise two triangular thicknesses, superimposed and fixed to opposite walls of the box. The flap 1 may have flanges 9 which can be tucked into the spaces between the walls 4 and the flanges 7. The flaps 1 may beheld in an erected position by means of lugs bent inwards from the sides of the box.
