Abstract

698,010. Sewing-machines. DœRKOPPWERKE AKT.-GES. July 16, 1951 [July 17, 1950], No. 16775/51. Class 112. [Also in Groups XXVI and XXXIV] The needle of a sewing-machine is reciprocated by a driving pulley 23 through a gear wheel 2 on a shaft 3, a wheel 1 driving a gear pump 6 (see Group XXVI), and a wheel 4 of a hollow shaft 5 which carries a hand-wheel 22. A lubricating system for the machine (see Group XXXIV) comprises reservoirs in the head and base which are exhausted to the pump, the oil being re-circulated through pipes 13, 15, and shaft 5. The pipe 13 supplies oil to the driving mechanism in the base, and the pipe 15 supplies to tne shaft 5 and axial and radial ducts in the parts forming the head. Specification 689,672, which is referred to, describes and shows a head constructed as shown in this Specification.
