[Class 112] [Also in Group XXXIV] The thread carrier raceway 22 of a rotary loop-taker 19 in a sewing machine is lubricated from an inclined bore 41 in the loop-maker shaft 28. The oil drops from a duct 86 through ducts 53, 52 in the bed-plate 10 and sleeve 48 to the sleeve opening 47 whence it is fed by a helical thread 46 on shaft 28 to an end recess 51 left by the closure disc 49 and thence to the bore 41. The bore is concentric with the shaft at the end near the disc 49 and terminates eccentrically at the other end in an aperture 43 leading to a groove 42 in the shaft and ducts 44, 45 in the loop-taker, ending to the raceway 22. The inner end of sleeve 48 is cut away centrally to form a by-pass 54 between the sleeve and the bearing so as to drain oil to the reservoir 31 where the machine is not working. The lubricant reservoir and sight feed are carried by a hollow bracket-arm standard, as described in Specification 557,081. Specification 557,096 also is referred to.
