549,218. Sewing-machines. FAIRWEATHER, W. C. (Singer Manufacturing Co.). May 9, 1941, No. 6032. [Class 112] In a rotary-hook lock-stitch sewing machine one of the oil ducts 22 leading from the central oil cavity 16 in the hook shaft to the hook raceway 25 terminates in a cavity 30 in the hook body which has a port opening on to the raceway. The cavity 30 is filled with wick material which is pressed into the port and retained in place by a cover-plate 28. A groove 32 in the hook body underneath the cover plate conveys oil from the cavity 39 and delivers it to the raceway through ports 33.
