[Class 112] Lubricating. - Improvements in the lubricating system described in Specification 594,868, for the raceway of a horizontal-axis rotary hook, comprise (a) the placing of a rod 61 in the bore of the shaft 21 or otherwise restricting the volume of the bores so that oil pressure is more quickly built up, and (b) the arrangement of the pressure-relief. passage 53 and control valve 56 to discharge into the cavity 42 from which the shaft receives oil, instead of into the main reservoir ; the cavity 42 thus acts as an auxiliary reservoir. Both these modifications reduce the total quantity of oil required, which is much larger than that actually used by the loop-taker.
