Abstract
706,297. Builder motions. HAGENUK HANSEATISCHE APPARATEBAU-GES. NEUFELDT and KUHUKE GES. July 11, 1952 [July 13, 1951], No. 17478/52. Class 120(2) A builder mechanism for a ring spinning or twisting machine includes a hydraulic servomotor which imparts a rapid reciprocatory movement to the ring rail over part of the length of the cop, the servomotor and its supply pump being combined as a structural unit and being given a relatively slow movement over the whole length of the cop by a separate hydraulic or mechanical means. A rod and chain mechanism for transmitting the motion to the ring rail is connected to a chain 22 which passes over a pulley 23 and is attached to a member 24 extending from the piston 36 of the servomotor 25. The servomotor 25 and pump 26 are mounted on a screwed sleeve 28 which is given a slow up and down movement over the length of the cop by a spindle 29 rotated by a bevel wheel 30 which may be driven from a working member of the machine. The servomotor is provided with a slide valve 32 and an auxiliary slide valve 33, and fluid supplied under pressure from the pump 26 through a pipe 43 enters both valves 32 and 33. Dependent upon the position of the piston of the valve 33 fluid is transmitted from this valve through either pipe 47 or pipe 48 to act upon one side or the other of the piston 38 of valve 32, so determining, according to the position of the piston 38, whether the fluid entering valve 32 is transmitted to act upon one side or the other of the piston 36 of the servomotor through either pipe 45 or pipe 46. Flanges 34 and 35 upon the piston of the valve 33 contact a projection 37 at either the upper or lower end of the travel of the piston 36 to displace the piston of valve 33. The upward stroke of piston 36 is of lower speed than the downward stroke as determined by the different effective surface areas. To compensate for the amounts of fluid required in each stroke a cam 39 projecting from piston 36 operates a spring-urged rack 40 to regulate the pump 26. Return pipes, not shown, are connected from the outlets 0 to the reservoir 27. The output of pump 26 may be varied manually.
