697,263. Supporting and mounting bearings. THOMPSON PRODUCTS, Inc. June 22,1951 [Feb. 5, 1951], No. 14882/51. Class 12 (i). A resiliently mounted shaft hanger assembly comprises a bearing housing 29 having resilient bushings 35 mounted in opposite sides of the housing for receiving the ends 28 of a C-shaped hanger 12 which is attached to a supporting beam 10 by means of brackets 13. Each bracket 13 comprises straps 14, 15 bolted to the beam 10, and having central recessed portions 22, 21 between which a preloaded rubber bushing 23 surrounding the portion 26 of the hanger 12 is accommodated. The bushings 35 are preferably preloaded and have a different degree of resiliency from the bushings 23. The shaft axis A may be arranged above or below the axis CL of the hanger ends 28.
