Abstract
697,122. Angular bending. MUNRO & MILLER, Ltd. Feb. 28, 1952 [March 6, 1951], No. 5419/51. Class 83 (iv). [Also in Group XI] In bending tubular blanks by forcing them axially over a curved taper mandrel, the blanks are heated by a preferably high-frequency induction coil 14. Convolutions at the ends of the coil are positioned by spacers 16, 17 adjusted axially of the mandrel by chains &c. 26, 27 engaging shafts 20, 22. In use, the blanks are forced over the mandrel 10 from the right, Fig. 1, and the coil is adjusted by the chains in position and pitch to vary the heating effect.
