Abstract
1,025,876. Travelling wave tubes. VARIAN ASSOCIATES. June 14, 1963 [June 25, 1962], No. 23874/63. Heading H1D. A fluid-cooled travelling-wave tube comprises a tubular body portion 12 surrounding the slow-wave structure 18, a tubular body-cooling sleeve surrounding the tubular body portion, means for closing the ends of the body cooling sleeve about the body portion to provide a chamber surrounding the body portion, the chamber being connected to passageways provided in the collector electrode. The chamber may be divided into two elongated portions, each portion being connected to one of two passageways formed in the collector electrode in the form of a double helix.
