Abstract

1,025,877. Travelling wave tubes. VARIAN ASSOCIATES. June 14, 1963 [June 25, 1962], No. 33634/65. Divided out of 1,025,876. Heading H1D. A radio frequency coupling connection for coupling to a slow wave circuit 18 within and spaced from the body portion 17 of a travelling wave tube comprises a wave-permeable window 27 sealed in the body portion, a pin 28 projecting through the window radially inwardly of the body portion toward the slow-wave circuit, a saddle member 29 slidably movable on the pin during assembly and adapted to be fixedly secured to the slow-wave circuit and the pin, whereby the window assembly can be sealed in the body portion of the tube with the saddle slidably supported on the pin, the slow-wave circuit inserted into the tube, and the saddle brought into contact with the circuit and fixedly secured to the circuit and the pin.
