Abstract
1334511 Travelling-wave tubes SIEMENS AG 17 Aug 1972 [15 Sept 1971] 38307/72 Heading H1D In a slow-wave structure for a travelling-wave tube, formed by a sequence of annuli supported along the axis of a waveguide by supports in a common plane and extending alternately from opposite sides of the waveguide, Fig. 1, ranges of relative values of the dimensions d 1 , d 2 , d a , h, L, and S are specified, which provide good coupling impedance, mode separation, and heat dissipation, for an overall size small enough to permit the use of periodic permanent magnet focusing. The supports 3 preferably extend through the guide 1, which latter may be either of circular or square (Fig. 4, not shown) cross section; if square, it may be formed in two halves which are welded together along axially extending seams after the annuli have been mounted therein.
