Abstract

1445574 Travelling-wave tubes SIEMENS A.G. 26 July 1973 [23 Oct 1972] 35555/73 Heading HID A coupled-cavity slow-wave structure formed by a hollow tube and transverse walls includes lossy material in a plurality of the cavities, which material in each of the cavities is arranged as a pair of mutually opposed segments 7, Figs. 3 and 6, in direct contact with the tube wall, the two segments of a pair having the same maximum width S or S 1 in a direction perpendicular to the tube axis. As shown, the slow-wave structure may be formed of a sequence of spacer rings 5, Fig. 3, and wall members 4, Fig. 2 or Fig. 6, the lossy segments 7 being secured either in one or the other. The value of S or S 1 may increase along the delay line.
