Abstract
693,607. Electro-deposition of zinc. POOR & CO. Sept. 28, 1951 [Dec. 6, 1950], No. 22744/51. Class 41. A method of electro-depositing bright zinc comprises the use of a bath containing zinc sulphate, a water-soluble lignin sulphonate, dark molasses and trifluoroacetic acid. The bath may also contain aluminium sulphate, a zinc aldonate, for example zinc gluconate, and sodium acetate. In preparing the bath the lignin sulphonate, which may be a sodium salt of sulphonated lignin, and the molasses are mixed in hot water and filtered, and trifluoroacetic acid is added to the filtrate. The zinc gluconate may be prepared as described in Specification 693,592, [Group IV (b)].
