Abstract

693,414. Two-part couplings. WINCHESTER ELECTRONICS, Inc. Oct. 22, 1951, No. 24591/51. Class 38 (i). In a plug-and-socket connector, the socket part comprises an insulating member 10 having a polygonal head portion 11 and a threaded portion 12, said member being adapted to be secured in a panel 14 by a nut 13 with a locking- ring 23 secured between the head portion and the panel. Said locking-ring has diametricallyspaced and outwardly-bent projections 24 adapted to co-operate with inwardly-bent projections 27 on a second locking-ring 28 on the plug part held captive between a head portion on an insulating member 29 and a cover 32. After engaging the plug and socket parts, ring 28 is rotated to engage the projections 24, 27, whereupon the cover 32 is tightened to prevent further rotation of ring 28. Plug-and-socket contacts 38, 16 respectively are retained in the insulating members 29, 11 by U-shaped spring clips 33.
