Abstract

692,635. Hooks. RIVER WEAR COMMISSIONERS. Oct. 19, 1951 [Nov. 1, 1950], No. 26652/50. Class 89 (ii) The hook part of a crane hook is in the form of an overlapping helix with the gap at the top. A short portion 4 projects from one side of the shank 1 and the major portion 2 projects from the other. The space between the point 5 and the part 4 is sufficient freely to pass the load sling or chain. The suspension eye 3 of the hook is in a plane at right angles to that of the hook part and it has a projection 6 intended to prevent the point of the hook from catching under a hatch covering.
