Abstract

691,488. Roofing. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Aug. 1, 1951 [Sept. 15, 1950], No. 22711/50. Class 20(iv) Curved sheets 5 e.g. of corrugated material such a: metal, polyviny chloride &c. are secured to tw( spaced apart beams 2 to form a roof, rooflight or the like, the supporting mem bers each being provided with ar upper flange 14 having a converse upper surface which is marked with parallel lines 12, each line indicating the correct drilling position for fixing a sheet of a particular span. Thecurved flange 14 is connected by an upright, or slightly sloping, web 15 to a base 13 which is attached to the main structure by bolts 4, or by rag bolts, not shown, the base being provided with a series of shallow grooves and slots when rag bolts are used. Each beam is provided with a condensation channel 8, weep holes 9, and a lip 10 to prevent leakage of water, the eaves of the roof being closed by an element 7.
