Abstract

Class 44 [Also in Group XVII] A device for attaching a delivery of cleaned clothes &c. to a house door comprises a clamping plate 20 which may be locked in its clamping position for release by key from outside the door or by pulling on a cord within. In one embodiment, Fig. 5, a ratchet bar 26 attached to the plate 20 is engaged by a bolt 30 which may be raised by pulling a cord 41 or by operation of a lock barrel 38. The side of the plate 20 opposite the bar 26 is engaged by projections 29 in the device casing 12. In another embodiment, Fig. 7, an edge of the plate 20 is engaged by a ratchet bar 47 which is pressed inwardly by hand and held in the engaging position by a bolt 49. Raising the the bolt 49 by a barrel lock 50 or cord 41a permits a spring 54 to withdraw the bar 47 to release the plate.
