Abstract

689,255. Ventilators. AIR CONTROL INSTALLATIONS, Ltd., and GIBBESON, J. H. June 19, 1951 [July 21, 1950], No. 18328/50. Class 137 A ventilator for an opening in a window, door, &c. comprises a casing 17 having air inlet openings 20 and housing a motor 22, fan 21, and switch 23; and a member 14 which surrounds an opening in a window 11 and carries a hinged closure member 10, the casing 17 being secured to the member 14 by screws 18 which also pass through a clamping ring 40. A closure control member 27, guided at its upper end by a slot 26 engaging a pin 25 projecting from a bracket 24 secured to the member 14 and at its lower end in a guide 28, is provided with a branch 33 which has a cam slot 34 engaging a pin 37 on a . bracket 38 secured to the closure member 10. The pin 37 moves along the cam slot 34 when a handle 29 fixed to the control member 27 is moved downward, the pin resting in a detent 36 to maintain the member 10 fully open and being released when the handle is again pulled to allow a spring 30 to urge the member 10 into its closed position. A sealing strip 43 is secured round the member 14. The operating arm 42 of the switch 23 projects between a constriction 46 between the arms of theU- shaped lower portion of the control member and a roller 47 carried between these arms, the motor being switched "on" when the member 10 is opened and "off" when it is closed.
