Abstract

688,902. Reservoir pens; nibs. BURNHAM & SONS, Ltd., H., and BURNHAM, J. G. Sept. 11, 1950. [Sept. 10, 1949] No. 23453/49. Class 146 (iii). The flexibility of a nib 3 having a substantially tubular part 31 is controlled by a slidable metal supporting member 4 of substantially tubular form which embraces the nib 3. The member 4, of non-corrodible metal, such as gold or stainless steel, comprises a tubular part 4<SP>1</SP> which clamps the nib to the feed bar 2 and a projecting part 42 overlying a portion of the nib. A space 4<SP>3</SP> between the member 4 and nib 3, and an annular ink pocket 6 behind the member 4 take up excessive ink flow. Ink in the space 4<SP>3</SP> ensures an initial prompt supply to the nib.
