Abstract

Feed-bars for reservoir pens ; regulating inksupply; nibs, securing.-A fountain pen is provided with a removable feed-bar provided with a screw for adjustably securing the nib in position. The rear end of the feed-bar may be formed conical to fit into a correspondingly shaped aperture in the end of the barrel d, or the feedbar may screw into place. The feed-bar is provided with a chamber communicating with the surface duct f by means of a passage e. The surface duct is enlarged at a point g to surround an opening through which passes a bolt h for securing the nib b in position, the lower side of the feed-bar being recessed to accommodate the nut on the bolt. Adjustment ot the bolt h serves to regulate the resiliency of the nib and to control the flow of ink. The rear end of the nib lies in a recess i in the conical end of the feedbar. The nib and feed-bar may be employed with a holder of ordinary elongated taper form, the holder being hollow, to act as an ink-reservoir.
