Abstract

A paste comprising an aqueous phosphating solution in admixture with powdered mica as a carrier, is used for phosphating metal surfaces. The phosphating solution is preferably a solution of phosphoric acid but may also contain hydrochloric or sulphuric acids to assist in rust removal.
