Abstract
Cyclohexylammonium - N - cyclohexylsulphamate is prepared by heating cyclohexylamine with sulphamic acid, and may thereafter be treated with a metallic base, e.g. sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide or silver hydroxide, to produce the corresponding metal salt of cyclohexylsulphamic acid. A solvent may be present, e.g. kerosene, cyclohexylamine or other inert solvent having a boiling point about 195 DEG C. Examples are given of the production of sodium cyclohexylsulphamate from cyclohexylamine and sulphamic acid (1) in the absence of a solvent, (2) in the presence of excess cyclohexylamine as solvent, and (3) in the presence of kerosene as solvent, the intermediate cyclohexylammonium-N-cyclohexyl-sulphamate formed being treated in each case with sodium hydroxide.
