Abstract

687,303. Heaters for galvanising pots. HARVEY & CO. (LONDON) Ltd., G. A., and EATWELL, H.T. Aug. 17, 1951, No. 20522/50. Classes 51 (i) and 51 (ii). A heater element for use in pots for galvanising metals comprises a burner tube 1 and two flue tubes 2 disposed in side-by-side relationship and adapted to be immersed in a fluid material, such as pure lead or a mixture of certain tempering salts, in a vertical position. A burner 7 is mounted in the upper end of the burner tube and a plurality of cross tubes 6 through which said fluid material may pass extends transversely through the flue tubes, the burner tube and flue tubes communicating at their lower ends 5 so that the combustion gases may pass up the flue tubes around the cross tubes to an outlet 15 via passages 14. Eye-bolts 13 are provided for lifting the element and the combustion tube is lined with refractory 4. The level of the fluid material is indicated at A. When in position in a; galvanising pot the edge of the header 10 rests on the. edges of compartments for the fluid material as at B. Specification No. 687,306 is referred to.
