Abstract

684,001. Transformers and inductors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Jan. 5, 1951 [Jan. 7, 1950]. No. 425/51. Class 38 (ii). A magnetic core comprises in the embodiment shown, an E-shaped lamination 7, two U-shaped laminations 2, 11 with intermediate members 3, 14 forming winding legs therefor, and an I-shaped lamination 16 arranged as shown to carry, e.g. an auto-transformer and two reactor windings (not shown) respectively, to supply two parallel connected discharge lamps, and the lamination arrangement is reversed in alternate layers, or groups of layers. In a modification for supplying one lamp, one stack of U-shaped and intermediate laminations, and one reactor winding are omitted. Wedges (not shown) driven between the winding formers and the winding legs locate the windings and the core parts.
