Abstract
681,756. Pulverulent fuel burners. OESTERREICHISCH - AMERIKANISCHE MAGNESIT AKT.-GES. July 21,1950 [Dec. 12, 1949], No. 18331/50. Class 75(i) [Also in Group XII] In a rotary furnace (see Group XII) the conventional burner tube 8 projecting into the furnace head 2 supplied with heated secondary air from the cooler 4 is formed near its mouth with a flat nozzle 17 discharging an additional stream of air in a tangential direction. The nozzle 17 preferably enters the burner tube 8 at an angle to a plane taken at right angles to the axis of the tube and this angle may be varied (Fig. 4) by pivoting the nozzle 17 in a pocket formed in the tube 8.
