679,735. Kinematograph cameras. BRYCE, W. E. Jan. 24, 1951 [Nov. 7, 1949], No. 28460/49. Class 97 (i). The film spools are carried on a two-part spindle rotatably mounted on a fixed bearing pin 17, the feed spool 21 being freely rotatable on the part 14 which is driven, as by a pulley 16 and belt 15, this part having driving connection with the part 14<SP>1</SP> on which the take-up spool 28 is mounted for rotation therewith. The part 14 is reduced in diameter from the shoulder 18 outwards to form a bearing for the part 14<SP>1</SP> which has an end flange and a squared portion 14<SP>2</SP> which provides the driving connection with the 'take-up spool 28. The part 14 has a diametral slot 19 at its outer end and the part 14<SP>1</SP> has a transverse web engaged therein. The feed spool is aligned with the gate and the film passes thereto over resilient spring fingers which allow for intermittent movement at the gate and brake the feed spool to prevent overrunning. The film then passes round rollers which bring it into line with the take-up spool.
