854,711. Photographic roll-film cameras. GRUTER, R., MEIXNER, W., and NOLTE, A., [trading as BALDA-KAMERAWERK R. GRUTER KOMM.-GES.]. Oct. 18, 1957 [Nov. 5, 1956], No. 32530/57. Class 98(1) In a roll-film camera one end of a centrally pivoted lever controls the drive to a film drive roller and the other end controls a sleeve having an open-ended slot formed to provide engagement with the driving rib of the re-wind spool and to key the sleeve to the splines of a re-wind shaft. Thus, as shown, the legs of sleeve 5, which can be moved into engagement with rib 9a of spool 9, pass through apertures in ring 2 which is formed integrally with rewind shaft 1 and serves to mount the shaft for rotation. The rotation of plate 16 tilts lever 13 about projection 12 by the cam action of arm 16a and thus simultaneously couples or uncouples drive 15 with film drive roller 14 and uncouples or couples rib 9a with the legs of sleeve 5. The motion of plate 16 also locks or releases film re-wind handle 10. Rotation of pin 23 or, alternatively, a jumping motion of the pin (if the pin is keyed to shaft 1) shows that the film is being wound on correctly.
