678,219. Bobbin brakes for Axminster looms. GOODWIN, F. J. July 26,1950 [Aug. 3, 1949], No. 20203/49. Class 142(ii) A bobbin brake for an Axminster loom comprises a shoe 18 for engagement with the rim of the bobbin cheek 15 and pivotally mounted on a bobbin clasp 1, and means for rocking the shoe about its pivot so that as the bobbin clasps rise the brake is freed, and as the bobbin clasps are lowered the brake is applied. Means are provided for releasing the usual flat spring brake attached to the bobbin frame so that the shoe 18 exercises full control over the bobbin.
