Abstract
661,462. Looms. REED & SONS, Ltd., W., and STANWORTH, A. Jan. 19, 1950 [Jan. 28, 1949], No. 2353/49. Class 142(ii). Pressure between a cloth roller B and a take-up roller A of a weaving loom (Fig. 1) is maintained by a strap D secured to the cloth roller shaft B<SP>1</SP>, passed over the take-up roller shaft A<SP>1</SP> and secured to a tension spring E. The spring is held in tension by an arm H of an adjustably mounted turn-over lever on the loom frame. When the lever is disengaged from a stop N, the spring tension is released and the cloth roller may be exchanged. In a further embodiment, the strap is passed under the shaft B<SP>1</SP> instead of being connected thereto and is then taken up and secured to a fixed point on the frame. In Fig. 5 the end of the tension spring P furthest from the lever hook Q<SP>2</SP> is conical and engages a compression spring R. Spring R is in turn engaged by a washer S nutted to the end of a bolt Q passing through the springs and secured at Q<SP>1</SP> to the strap D.
