677,974. Rail-vehicle undercarriage. M. E. ENGINEERING, Ltd. Feb. 23, 1951, No. 4503/51. Addition to 652,517, [Group XXXIV]. Class 103(vi) [Also in Group XXXIV] In an axle box of pressed steel according to the parent Specification, a protecting cap 6 located between the chassis 5 and the axle box housing 1 is provided with a partcylindrical or part-spherical abutment member 10 in self-aligning engagement with a reinforcing plate 8 mounted on the axle box housing 1. The reinforcing plate 8 may be provided with a part-spherical depression 9 which co-operates with a partspherical member 6A, Fig. 5, or with a circular section groove, Fig. 4A, when the member 10 is part cylindrical.
