Abstract

677,581. Valve accessories. VICKERS-ARMSTRONGS, Ltd., and DACRE, J. A. March 2, 1951 [May 2, 1950], No. 10797/50. Class 135 [Also in Group XXVIII] In a fitting for connecting a pipe to the space between two transparent panels of an aircraft window, a valve body 10 is secured in the opening 11 of one panel, and a valve member 14, adapted to be raised from its seat 15 when the pipe is screwed into a plug 19, is so arranged that an indication as to whether the valve is open or shut is visible through the other panel. The spring-loaded valve member is supported in the bore of the body on each side of the seat 15, and the bore is open to the space between the panels through one or more ports 22. The valve stem 14a may be arranged to lie flush with the end face of the body either when the valve is closed or when fully open. The stem may have markings to show the extent of its projection beyond the body. Specification 640,554 is referred to.
