Abstract

640,554. Couplings. VICKERS-ARMSTRONGS, Ltd., and DACRE, J. I. A. March 19. '1948, No. 8231. [Class 99(i)] [Also in Group XXIX] A fitting which permits communication between a dehydrator coupling 23 &c. and a space C between two panels A, B of an aircraft window, comprises a body 10, 15 carried in a hole 12 in the window and a spring actuated valve 19 which has a shank 119 axially slidable in the body and adapted to co-operate with a seating 18 transversely fixed in the body for closing a passage therethrough, the valve being lifted from its seating on attachment of the coupling to open the passage which leads to the space between the panels. The part 10 includes a housing 110 for the valve 19, the housing being internally threaded to receive the coupling or a plug. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the fitting is attached to the inner pane and comprises a body which is secured by a flanged nut, a plug being threaded into the body to form a seat for the valve.
