Abstract
677,048. Bulldozers. RUSTON-BUCYRUS, Ltd. Nov. 6, 1950. [Dec. 30, 1949] No. 27040/50. Class 68 (i). A bulldozer blade 12 is mounted on a U- shaped frame 11 to tilt about the longitudinal axis of said frame, the blade having secured on the back thereof arcuate rails 27 the centre of curvature of which coincides with the longitudinal axis of the frame. In interlocking engagement with each rail is a block 26 that can slide with respect to each rail, said block having two rearwardly projecting lugs 26A, 26B, that fit within and are pivotally secured to a landside 22 by a pin 28. Pivotally mounted on the pin 28 between the lugs is an eccentrically mounted wedge seat 31 having formed thereon one or two wedge surfaces, 31A, 31B. On entry of wedge 29 between the wedge seat and the arcuate rail, the rail and the block 26 are locked with respect to one another so maintaining the blade at the desired angle of tilt.
