Abstract

795.648. Scarifiers. FORTE, H. A. Jan. 23, 1957, No. 2469/57. Class 107. A scarifier tooth assembly for attachment to a mouldboard of a bulldozer comprises a standard with a saddle towards the bottom for receiving the lower edge of the mouldboard and a bracket at the top of the standard, the bracket having a hook member which clamps on to the mouldboard and thus raises the whole assembly so that the saddle grips the mouldboard. The standard K has a groove 18 forming the saddle T and is extensible, a pin 25 being located in one of a number of holes .23 to engage a slot 24, thus giving a vernier adjustment. Bracket B is pivoted at 29 and is locked in its operative position by a pin 30 in one of two holes 33. The hook A is pivoted at 39 and pressed on to the rail 49 on the mouldboard by a screw E. This action raises the standard, and thus the saddle, firmly into contact with the bottom of the bulldozer blade D whilst pivoting the clamping member about its pin to engage the rear of the rail 49.
