Abstract

1,080,856. Earth-working teeth; scarifiers. ALLIS - CHALMERS MANUFACTURING CO. March 30, 1966 (April 6, 1965], No. 14059/66. Headings E1F and E1G. The configuration of a replaceable digger tooth for earth excavating and scarifying equipment is such that when the tooth is mounted on a shank to be at an acute angle to the direction of movement of the tooth in normal usage the tooth is self sharpening as it wears. To permit of this self sharpening the tooth is formed with respect to said direction of movement with a convex, leading face and a concave trailing face, the faces being convergent towards the nose end of the tooth, which nose end, when the tooth is positioned for normal usage has a flat horizontally disposed bottom face.
