Abstract

1400358 Earth-working implements CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 12 Nov 1973 [24 Nov 1972] 52497/73 Heading E1F An earth-working implement, e.g. a loader bucket, has a cutting edge 14 mounted on the bottom surface of a forwardly extending plate 11 thereof. A support member 12, welded to a top surface of the support plate, has an adapter 16 mounted thereon which carries an earthworking tip 23 extending forwardly of the cutting edge. A releasable bolt 20 extends through the cutting edge, support plate, support member and adapter to detachably mount the cutting edge and adapter on the bucket. Preferably the adapter is mounted on the support member by a closely mating, longitudinal extending tongue and groove connection of inverted T shaped cross section or a rectangular cross section. If the connection is of rectangular cross section then the adapter and its support member are locked together against by a pin 18.
