Abstract

565,417. Excavating &c. AKTIEBOLAGET BOFORS. May 6, 1943, No. 7198. Convention date, June 5, 1942. [Class 68 (i)] In a dipper bucket for a steam shovel, dredge, &c. with replaceable teeth secured to the bucket or its lip by interlocking members with inclined faces, elastic means are provided for automatically holding said members in close contact. In Fig. 2, the bucket or bucket lip 1 has a tapered or conical part 2 engaging a corresponding socket 3 in the tooth 4, and held thereto by a transverse key 5, a spring 8 acting between said key and the base of a recess 6 in the part 2 ; the keyis protected by projection 10, 11, and is prevented normally from lateral movement by shoulders 9 engaging opposite sides of a part of a tooth. In Fig. 3, the tooth 4 has a tapered &c. projection 12 engaging a corresponding recess in the bucket 1, and held therein by a key 5, springs 15 engaging the ends of the key. In place of the springs 8, 15, the key may be made elastic.
