Abstract

1451729 Excavator buckets MARION POWER SHOVEL CO Inc 28 Nov 1974 [9 April 1974] 51622/74 Heading E1F A tooth assembly mounted on a rib 29 disposed on the bottom wall 15 of an excavator bucket comprises a pair of base plates 36, 37 having forwardly and rearwardly disposed openings 44, 45 registered with openings 34, 35 in the rib 29; a tooth point 38 having a rearwardly opening socket receiving the forward end of the pair of base plates, and side walls 58, 59 with openings 61, 62 registered with openings 34, 44 in the. pair of base plates and the rib; and pins 39-41 disposed in the registered openings for securing the base plates to the rib and the tooth point to the base plates. The pins 40 and 41 having deformable portions at their ends to set the pins in their respective openings. Modifications are described in which the registered openings 34, 44, 61 and 62 have the same diameter so that the pins 39, 40 are replaced by a single pin, and the base plates 36, 37 are joined by a connecting portion 71, Fig. 10, and/or a web portion 72, Fig. 12.
