Abstract

676,960. Seats. GUBLER, E. FORSTER-. Feb. 28, 1951. [Dec. 21, 1950] No. 4911/51. Class 52 (ii). In a chair &c. of the kind in which the back rest can be lowered vertically the seat side members 8 are each provided with an inclined stop 9 and an inclined groove 10 which communicates with a groove 4 in each rear leg 3 while the lower end of each side member 6 of the back rest is provided with a projection 5 engaging the grooves 10, 4. In the elevated position of the back rest the projections 5 are engaged with the inclined grooves 10 and the back rest side members 6 engage at their lower ends with the stops 9 and the rear transverse member 7 of the seat. To lower the back rest it is tilted forwardly until the projections 5 come into line with the grooves 4 whereupon the back rest can be lowered until the upper transverse member of the back rest is flush with the seat members 1.
