Abstract

675,146. Oil seals. SOC. AR.L. SOBEDA. May 15, 1950 [Dec. 29, 1949], No, 12071/50. Class 122(v) An oil sealing device between a rotary shaft 2 and a stationary casing 6 comprises an annulus 1 of elastic material, such as a superpoly amide, having a flat circular portion lying in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the shaft 2 with an integral or a moulded on hub 7 positively clamped on the shaft by axial pressure and a lateral flange terminating in a peripheral bead 1c which bears directly on the casing wall. The hub 7 is formed by a moulded or metal ring clamped between the inner race of a ball bearing 3 and a tubular sleeve 4.
