Apparatus for measuring the even harmonic content when the peak of the fundamental coincides with a peak of the harmonic, comprises means D1, D2, Fig. 1, for rectifying the oscillation to produce two currents proportional to the negative and positive half-cycles, which are impressed on one coil of a ratiometer whose other coil is fed with the mean value of the oscillation. The deflection is a measure of the content of even harmonics. Apparatus for measuring the odd harmonic content comprises means D1, D2, Fig. 2, for obtaining a current in R3 proportional to the peak value of the oscillation, and means D3, D4 for obtaining a current in R4 proportional to the mean value, both currents being impressed in opposition on one coil of a ratiometer whose other coil is fed with the peak value only. The deflection is a measure of the content of odd harmonics. Specification 381,940 is referred to.
