[Class 37] [Also in Group XL] In a device for the audible detection and of unmodulated high-frequency currents, a low frequency audible detector 6 and a measuring instrument 5 are connected through a rectifier 4 across the secondary windings 3 of a transformer 2 which is excited by the high-frequency currents through the primary windings 1 and by an audio-frequency current through the second primary windings 10. the arrangement being such that the limiting value of the rectifier is exceeded, causing the detector 6 to respond, only when high-frequency currents are being received. The limiting value of the rectifier may be increased by applying a direct potential. If the apparent impedance of the second primary winding is equal to the resistance of the low frequency source, the response of the detector 6 will be independent of the magnitude of the highfrequency current, but if it is smaller than this resistance the response varies with the magnitude.
