Abstract
811,347. Electric tests. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 14, 1956 [June 17, 1955], No. 18417/56. Class 37. In an induction flowmeter more than one pair of electrodes is used spaced around the pipe in order to take account of non-uniform flow in the pipe. In the arrangement shown a rotating field is produced either by spaced windings fed with out-of-phase currents or by a rotating permanent magnet. Each pair of electrodes feeds one of amplifiers 10, 11, 12 and transformers 13, 14, 15. The transformer outputs are connected through variable resistors 16, 17, 18 to bridge rectifiers 19, 20, 21, the outputs of which are all connected in series with a meter 22. The variable resistors enable the outputs to be made to correspond to the flow at the appropriate electrode pairs.
