672,221. Stabilizing soil. CLARE, K. E. June 19, 1950. [June 17, 1949] No. 16209/49. Class 68 (i). Soil of pH not above 7 is stabilized by mixing therewith a high molecular weight compound or compounds obtained from the "black liquor" produced by digesting Esparto or like grass with caustic soda and/or sodium carbonate, by acidifying the liquor e.g. with calcium alloids and hydrochloric acid, filtering, drying and powdering the precipitate formed.
