In a free-wheeling multisprocket for a bicycle change-speed gear, the outer member c, integral with one sprocket d and having other sprockets e, f, g screwed thereon, is journalled at the outer end through a ball bearing h on the reduced outer end a' of a member a screwed on the wheel hub b, while at the inner end the member c has a. slight clearance p from a narrow flange a<SP>3</SP> on the member a. Spring-pressed pawls mounted on the member a co-operate with ratchet teeth c<SP>3</SP> in the member c between the bearing h and the flange a<SP>3</SP>. The clearance p allows the member c to tilt slightly about the bearing h when the chain is. moved on to the end sprocket e or g.
