Abstract

1384356 Freewheels ETABS MAURICE MAILLARD 12 March 1973 [17 March 1972] 11810/73 Heading B7E [Also in Division F2] A one-way clutch for a cycle comprises pawls 12 carried by a sleeve 2 fast with a wheel hub 1 and engaging ratchet teeth 11 which extend across the internal surface of a rim 3 between ball races 9, 10 of equal diameter. A plurality of sprockets 4 ... 8 are mounted on the rim 3. Plastics spacers 14, 15 separate the sprockets 4, 5, 6 which are held in the position shown between a flange 23 on the rim 3 and a sleeve 16 fast with the sprocket 7 and screwed on to the rim 3. The sprocket 8 is screwed on to a sleeve 18 of the sprocket 7. The sleeve 2 is screwed on to the wheel hub 1 by a spanner 22 which engages axial grooves 21 in the internal surface of the sleeve 2.
