670,483. Walls. MARTIN-PARRY CORPORATION. May 20, 1949 [Feb. 14, 1949], No. 3772/50. Divided out of and addition to 670,441. Class 20(iv) In a fire-resistant wall comprising spaced vertical studs 3, Fig. 2, each in the form of a pair of sheet aluminium-alloy furring strips 6, 7 with a separating sheet 8 of asbestos fibre, &c, as described in the parent Specification, these parts are secured together by short ferrous metal screws 25a, 25b. The screws 25a extend through the flanges 10a of the furring strip 6 into, but not completely through, the sheet 8, and the screws 25b, which are offset with respect to the screws 25a, through the flanges 10b of the strip 7; the screws 25b also extend through the elongated slots 24 in the clamping strips 22 of adjacent fire-resistant. panels 30. The wall is completed by sheet metal facing panels 21 and is mounted between the side walls 5c of a ceiling channel 5, Fig. 3, fitted with supporting bolts 30a, and a floor channel, not shown.
