[Classes 20(ii) and 20(iv)] A combined metal lintel and damp-proof course for a cavity wall comprises flanges 10, 11 supporting the two skins of the brickwork, and extending longitudinally of the wall to be supported thereby at their ends, and a web 12 extending across the cavity and functioning as the damp-proof course. As shown, each flange has a reinforcing channel 20 and an edge flange 19 which provide a level support for the brickwork, and the web comprises two vertical portions 13, 14 and a sloping portion 15 which deflects moisture from the inner skin of the wall.
